ChemInform Abstract

Optically active epoxides such as (III) are obtained by asymmetric Sharpless epoxidation of vinylsilanols (II), which are derived by very mild hydrolyzation of the ethers (I). The starting material (I) can be synthesized by addition of a copper reagent to ethynylbutoxydimethylsilane.
