ChemInform Abstract

The novel title compound is prepared by arc melting of cold-pressed pellets of the elements followed by annealing at 900 °C. Structure determination of single crystals grown in a lithium flux shows that the compound (cubic, I43m, Z = 2) is isotypic with Dy10+ xMn13-xC18. Refinement of the occupancy parameters for all atoms reveals a mixed Gd/Mn occupancy for one atomic site according to the title composition.
