ChemInform Abstract

It is ascertained that the antibacterial activity of 1β- methylcarbapenem derivatives, e.g. (VIII), is superior to that of the corresponding 1H-carbapenem derivatives derived from (IIIa). The antibacterial activity of (VIII) is slightly better than that of the corresponding diastereomer derived from (VI).
