ChemInform Abstract

The synthesis of a deuterated analogue (VIII) of the title hormone is described. The deuterium-labeling makes the molecule more stable towards oxidation, in particular at the C-8′ position, by cultured maize cells and gives a more persistent hormone with activity comparable to or even greater than that of abscisic acid.
