ChemInform Abstract

Electrochemical fluorination of N,N- dimethylaminoperfluoroalkylsulfonamides (I) and (VI) affords mixtures of perfluorinated and partially fluorinated compounds in good yield. Attempts to use N,N-dimethylaminomethanesulfonamide for electrochemical fluorination instead of trifluoromethanesulfonamide (I) fail. Evidences for the formation of fluorinated products by chemical interaction of the educts with nickel fluorides, generated electrochemically on the surface of the anode, are given.
