ChemInform Abstract

Dialkylzincs (III) undergo a highly enantioselective addition reaction to metallocenecarboxaldehydes such as (II) in the presence of a chiral 1,2-disubstituted ferrocenyl amino alcohol catalyst (cf. (-)-(I)). The 1-ferrocenylethanol (IVa) is evaluated to the antipode (+)-(I) of the catalyst used.
