ChemInform Abstract

The acid-catalyzed title reaction of the open-chain dipeptide derivatives (I) affords stereospecifically the bridged dipeptides (II). The tri- and tetrapeptide analogues (IV) are obtained in the same manner. Attempts to remove the protecting group Moc from (IIa), (IIb), and (IVa) lead to the formation of (III), whereas the more stable (IIc) can be deprotected without change of the structure.
