ChemInform Abstract

A mechanism is postulated to explain the formation of the pyridines ( III), (V) and (VIII)-(IX) from the imines (I), (IV) or the oximes (VI) with the aliphatic aldehydes (II), (VIIa,b) or cyclic ketones (VIIc,d) and a catalytic amount of piperidine and acid under pressure.
