ChemInform Abstract

The fluorescence emission and the time-resolved triplet-triplet absorption of the naphthyl residue in four dimeric peptides, the linear pair (I) and (II) and the cyclic pair (III) and (IV) as well as three octameric peptides are investigated. All peptides exhibit fluorescence quenching. Mechanisms to understand the energy-transfer rate are discussed.
