ChemInform Abstract

The novel dihydroxy-substituted aminoxyl spin label (II) is synthesized starting with the oxo-ester (I). Its two OH groups seem to prefer transesterification to substitution reaction as indicated by the formation of diester aminoxyls such as (V). The two crown-type aminoxyls (VII) are obtained as shown. The formation of the cyclic ether aminoxyl (III) is discussed.
