ChemInform Abstract

With regard to similarities of CsSO3F, α-CsReO4 and CsBrO4 concerning the unit cell dimensions, the scheelite type structure of CsSO3F has become questionable. Reinvestigation of the structure confirms that CsSO3F is isostructural with α-CsReO4 and consists of isolated SO3F tetrahedra linked together by Cs ions, Cs is 12-fold coordinated by O and F with an average Cs-O,F bond length of 3.290 . ANG.. CsSO3F crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I41/amd, Z = 4.
