ChemInform Abstract

Whereas compounds (Va) and (Vb) are not sufficiently acidic to function as useful chromogenic reagents at pH 7-8, the more acidic (Vc) shows a high selectivity toward lithium in the pH range 7-9. The larger cavity of derivative (Vd) is found to be suitable for Na+ complexation with a moderate selectivity.
