ChemInform Abstract

Studies show that KHSi(O-R)4 (R: -Et, -iPr) reduces Ph3SiF and Ph3SiCl and induces H/D exchange with Ph3SiD and Ph2SiD2. This easy and fast transfer seems to occur by a one-step concerted mechanism via a binuclear intermediate with bridging H and D atoms.
