ChemInform Abstract

The cyclohexanonimines (I) react with the acrylic anhydrides (II), generated in situ by coupling of acryloyl chlorides with the corresponding sodium acrylates, to form predominantly octahydroquinolinones the (IV). Treatment of (I) with the acryloyl chlorides (VI) only produces the enamides (III).
