ChemInform Abstract

The authors describe various organocopper-mediated methods for the conjugate addition of alkyl groups to the chiral enone (I) to yield cyclopentanones such as (III) or the corresponding enol acetates such as (VIII). Furthermore, (III) and (VIII) are converted to the enones ( V) and (IX) respectively by aldol-based procedures. Numerous further examples are given in the original paper.
