Abstract

A series of new heptamethine pyrylium dyes such as (III) is prepared.

ChemInform Abstract

A series of new heptamethine pyrylium dyes such as (III) is prepared. Spectral absorptions of these dyes range from 850 nm to 1160 nm. The relation between the structure and chromophore is discussed and a kinetic study is made on the configuration isomerization of these dyes. The photostability is investigated in relation to the chemical structure.
