Abstract

Electron ionization mass spectra of cis-1,3-cyclopentanedicarboxylic acids such as (I) and various derivatives are recorded.

ChemInform Abstract

Electron ionization mass spectra of cis-1,3-cyclopentanedicarboxylic acids such as (I) and various derivatives are recorded. Very little direct interaction takes place between the two carboxylic groups, but interaction of one of the acid groups with a ring hydrogen facilitates the elimination of H2O, followed by loss of CO and COOH.
