ChemInform Abstract

The reaction of pyrylium salts, e.g. (I), with the diketones (II) leads to 19 fused pyran derivatives of type (IV). Their structure is confirmed by spectroscopic methods and by X-ray analysis of the dibromide (VII) (space group P1 with Z=2). The pyrylium salts (VIII) react differently.
