ChemInform Abstract

In an attempt to produce phosphinoalane ring compounds and aluminum phosphide precursors under mild conditions, reactions between the silylalane (I) and several chlorophosphines e.g. PCl3, Ph2PCl and (Me3Si)2N-PPhCl are investigated. These lead to the formation of di- or polyphosphines; among them the product (II) is characterized by X-ray analysis (space group I41/a, Z = 8). However, reactions of (I) with sec. and prim. phosphines do provide via initially obtained Lewis acid-base complexes a route to form four- and six-membered AlP ring compounds. The title compounds (IV) and (VI) thus obtained are characterized by X-ray analyses ((IVa): P1, Z=4; (IVb): P21/n, Z=2; (VI): P1, Z=2). Pyrolysis of a polymeric product obtained from (I) and PH3 results in the formation of aluminum phosphide.
