ChemInform Abstract

Four main groups are found for the reaction of the closed-shell anion NO- with a variety of neutrals: 1. electron transfer (e.g. with biacetyl, CS2, nitrobenzene, O2), 2. dissociative electron transfer and/or displacement (e.g. with Me2S, CCl4, MeI), 3. clustering (e.g. with MeCHO, DMSO, MeCN, pyridine), and 4. only collisional detachment (e.g. with Me4Si, benzene).
