Abstract

Ni(II) dichloride (II) reacts with the tetraaza macrocycles (I) in the presence of ammonia (III) to give the Ni complexes (Va) of the noncyclic title ligands.

ChemInform Abstract

Ni(II) dichloride (II) reacts with the tetraaza macrocycles (I) in the presence of ammonia (III) to give the Ni complexes (Va) of the noncyclic title ligands. The analogous Cu(II) complexes (Vb) are formed from the Ni(II) complexes (Va) by metal-ion substitution. The compounds are characterized by IR and electronic spectra (for (Va) (R: Me) yield given in g; further yields not given).
