Abstract

The title compounds are prepared by solid phase reactions.

ChemInform Abstract

The title compounds are prepared by solid phase reactions. Mixtures of Ln2O3, BaCO3 and CuO are heated to 950 °C under air and subsequently to 900 °C under oxygen. Except for Ln: La, Pr all of the title compounds are superconductors above 77 K. This is confirmed by resistivity, ac susceptibility and the Seebeck coefficient data. Possible mechanisms of the superconductivity are discussed.
