ChemInform Abstract

The preparation of a great number of pyrimidones such as (I) and pyrimidines such as (II) is described. The synthesis of the heterocyclic skeleton starts with ketene thioacetals or aminals. The inotropic and chronotropic effects of the compounds prepared are measured. The derivatives (Ia) and (Ic) prove to be the most potent ones.
