Abstract

The synthesis of the aminoisoquinoline (III) is improved.

ChemInform Abstract

The synthesis of the aminoisoquinoline (III) is improved. (III) is converted to amides such as (V). Their antimycoplasmal activity in the presence of small amounts of copper is determined and compared with that of the macrolide antibiotic tylosin. The most active compounds are the derivatives (Vb) which reach the potency of tylosine, but only in the presence of copper sulfate.
