Abstract

The oxiranylmethylphosphonates (I) react with the alcohols (IIa) or the phenols (IIb) in the presence of the coresponding alcoholates or phenolates to give the propylphosphonates (III).

ChemInform Abstract

The oxiranylmethylphosphonates (I) react with the alcohols (IIa) or the phenols (IIb) in the presence of the coresponding alcoholates or phenolates to give the propylphosphonates (III). Boron trifluoride etherate-catalyzed coupling of the methyloxiranylphosphonate (IV) with (IIa) produces the isopropylphosphonates (V).
