Abstract

The spherand (IId), the synthesis of which is described, is a chromogenic ion-selective indicating system capable of detecting Li+ and Na+ at concentrations as low as 10-8 M in the presence of other common ions.

ChemInform Abstract

The spherand (IId), the synthesis of which is described, is a chromogenic ion-selective indicating system capable of detecting Li+ and Na+ at concentrations as low as 10-8 M in the presence of other common ions. The binding free energies of spherands (IIc), (IId) binding Li picrate and Na picrate at 25 °C in CDCl3 saturated with D2O are measured.
