ChemInform Abstract

The compound (III), prepared as shown in the scheme (yield in g), crystallizes in the tetragonal space group P4/mnc and is isostructural with the analogous chloride compound, whose structure has been published. The Raman spectra of both (III) and the chloride analog are recorded using samples containing the natural isotopic distribution of Mo as well as samples containing the pure isotope 92Mo. These spectra are compared with the Raman spectra of the Mo2(SO4)44- species.
