Abstract

From potentiostatic current density-potential measurements on a Pt rotating-disc electrode it can be stated that the heterogeneous electrocatalytic reduction of chromium(VI) and persulfates on Pt is strongly promoted by upd adlayers of heavy metals (Bi, Tl).

ChemInform Abstract

From potentiostatic current density-potential measurements on a Pt rotating-disc electrode it can be stated that the heterogeneous electrocatalytic reduction of chromium(VI) and persulfates on Pt is strongly promoted by upd adlayers of heavy metals (Bi, Tl). The results are interpreted in terms of preventing the blocking of the active sites of the electrocatalyst surface by inhibition of the destructive chemisorption of ionic species present in solution.
