Abstract

The bisammonium salts (III) and (VI) are prepared from the amines (I) or (IV) by alkylation.

ChemInform Abstract

The bisammonium salts (III) and (VI) are prepared from the amines (I) or (IV) by alkylation. (III) and (VI) are employed as catalysts in ester hydrolysis. For example, hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl diphenyl phosphate at 25°C, pH 8-9 proceeds 8 times faster in the presence of (III) and 750 times faster in the presence of (VI) than without a catalyst.
