Abstract
The reaction mentioned in the title yields selectively the triethyl orthocarboxylates (III).

The reaction mentioned in the title yields selectively the triethyl orthocarboxylates (III). Lithiation of the silyl enol ether (IV) and subsequent treatment with (II) produce the cyclohexanone orthocarboxylate (V). Application of this method to Grignard compounds does not give any satisfactory results.
