ChemInform Abstract

has been studied by laser spectroscopy in a supersonic jet. The reaction partners are expanded with a rare gas in a supersonic expansion yielding a cold complex in a collision-free region, which is then excited with a tunable laser to a reactive surface. The products are analyzed by conventional methods such as chemiluminescence spectra, laser-induced fluorescence, and multiphoton ionization. Results are reported and discussed for the Hg-H2, Hg-Cl2, and Xe-Cl2 systems.
