ChemInform Abstract

The synthesis of the title triaziridines (VII) starts from the epoxy compound (I). The forced proximity of the N=N and the N3 group in the intermediate (VI) allows the formation of the triaziridine ring system. When the conformationally more flexible acetyl analogue of (IV) is used for the photolysis, only 5% of the corresponding triaziridine is obtained. Thermolysis of (VIa) also leads to (VIIa).
