The synthesis of the title compound (XII) is reported.

The synthesis of the title compound (XII) is reported. The key-step of this synthesis is the Wittig reaction between the aldehyde (X) and the ylide generated in situ from the phosphonium bromide (VI) and NaOH under phase-transfer conditions.
