Abstract

is shown to result in joining strengths as high as about 380 MPa at 20 °C and about 150 MPa at 1000 °C, if joining is carried out at 1600 °C using a composition of Si3N4:(Y2O3 + La2O3) = 65:35 mol%.

ChemInform Abstract

is shown to result in joining strengths as high as about 380 MPa at 20 °C and about 150 MPa at 1000 °C, if joining is carried out at 1600 °C using a composition of Si3N4:(Y2O3 + La2O3) = 65:35 mol%. The joining agent forms a glassy phase after joining. No diffusion of Y, La, or Ca into the silicon nitride samples is observed.
