Abstract

Alkylation of benzene (II) with the diastereomeric triflates (I) leads to the phenylalanine derivatives (III).

ChemInform Abstract

Alkylation of benzene (II) with the diastereomeric triflates (I) leads to the phenylalanine derivatives (III). Whereas the threonine derivatives (Ia) and (Ib) react for the most part with retention at C-3, the allothreonine derivatives (Ic) and (Id) lead to diastereomeric mixtures of (III).
