Abstract

The reaction of (I) with iodosobenzene affords the title complex (II), which crystallizes in the space group P21/n with Z=4.

ChemInform Abstract

The reaction of (I) with iodosobenzene affords the title complex (II), which crystallizes in the space group P21/n with Z=4. The formation of (II) is evidently due to one-electron oxidation of (I), which can also be effected by using copper(II) acetate in MeOH. A mechanism is proposed. Possible applications of the coupling reaction are discussed.
