Abstract
Reaction of the bisdehydroannulenone (I) with cyclopentadienide generated from (II) gives the title compound (III).

Reaction of the bisdehydroannulenone (I) with cyclopentadienide generated from (II) gives the title compound (III). The other fulvalenes (IV)-(VIII) are obtained in the same way, whereas the adduct (IX) is obtained from the corresponding ethylbisdehydroannulenone.
