Abstract

ChemInform Abstract

The extremely moist-sensitive title complexes (IV) are obtained by lithiation of the phosphinothioic amides (II), products from (I) and appropriate prim. amines, and followed reaction with Ni(II) halides with or without isolation of the intermediary Li amides (III). By magnetic measurements, electronic and 31P NMR spectroscopy it is shown that (IVd) is purely tetrahedral over a wide range of temp. as well in the solid state as in solution. In solutions the other Compounds (IV) exist as a planar-tetrahedral equilibrium mixture in which the tetrahedral isomer prevailing with larger Rand with increasing temperature. (IVa), (IVb) are almost entirely planar at room temperature. In solid state (IVa) is most probably pentacoordinated, and (IVc) is a isomer mixture, while (IVe) is tetrahedral and (IVf) is planar.
