Abstract
Sulphides and dithioacetals of type (IV) are obtained by reaction of the Sulphides (I) with lithium compounds and subsequent treatment with electrophiles.

Sulphides and dithioacetals of type (IV) are obtained by reaction of the Sulphides (I) with lithium compounds and subsequent treatment with electrophiles. (IVa)-(IVb) are hydrolysed in acetone to give the aldehydes and ketones (V) whereas the dithioacetals (IVc)-(IVe) react in methanol to give the esters (VI).
