Abstract
The title reaction yields the complexes (III) as the major products.

The title reaction yields the complexes (III) as the major products. Attempts to synthesize (III) from (I) and (II) in the presence of Me3NO under milder conditions gave the products (III) as well as the fac-derivatives (IV). From one derivative (III), the diaxial compound (V), an X-ray Crystal structure determination was carried out: space group (′2/C, Z=4).
