Abstract
2-Hydroxyphenylmercaptane (I) werden mit Methylenbromid (II) in Gegenwart von Natronlauge′ und Methyltrialkylammoniumchlorid in guten Ausbeuten zu 1,3-Benzoxathiolen (III) umgesetzt.

2-Hydroxyphenylmercaptane (I) werden mit Methylenbromid (II) in Gegenwart von Natronlauge′ und Methyltrialkylammoniumchlorid in guten Ausbeuten zu 1,3-Benzoxathiolen (III) umgesetzt. Mit Cycloalkanonen (V) reagiert 2-Hydroxyphenylmercaptan (IV) in Dimethylsulfoxid in Gegenwart von Natriumhydroxid zu Spiro-(benzoxathiol-cycloalkanen) (VI). (NMR-Daten).
