ABSTRACT

Intracoronary stent loss is a rare but serious complication. Efforts should be made to properly retrieve the lost device. Such a complication could be particularly challenging in absence of a guidewire within the lost stent. We report a case of coronary perforation managed with ping-pong technique. Prolonged balloon inflation was able to seal the perforation. However, the procedure was complicated by intracoronary loss of a wire free covered stent. We describe a new technique that allowed efficient and safe retrieval of the intracoronary lost wire-free stent. We call it the Cast Net technique.
