Abstract

The extraction data of zinc and cadmium from aqueous media into an immiscible organic medium of aliphatic carboxylic acids (naphtenic acid and versatic 911) in kerosene have been collected. With these results slope analysis have been carried out in order to get some information about the stoichiometry of the species in the organic phase. In combination with Job analysis the following stoichiometry of these species has been postulated: CdR2.2HR and ZnR2.2HR. The cadmium complexes seem to be monomeric while in the case of zinc an average polymerisation degree of two has been found for both extractants.
