Gewinnung von Catechin-Dimeren durch Säurekondensation
Abstract
deDurch Säurekondensation gelang es, gleichzeitig drei Catechin-Dimere zu gewinnen, von denen zwei den Catechin-Dimeren von K. Freudenberg und W. Mayer entsprechen, und das bisher umstrittene dritte Dimer als ein Ringisomer des Dimers von W. Mayer erkannt wurde. Die Säurekondensation verläuft vermutlich nach dem Mechanismus der Methylolkondensation in der Bakelitsynthese.

enPraparation of Catechin-Dimers by Acid-Condensation
Three catechin-dimers were obtained simultanously by acid-condensation. Two of these dimers correspond to thoses which K. Freudenberg and W. Mayer have found and the other, whose constitution was hitherto controversial, turned out to be a ring isomer of Mayer's dimer. The acid-condensation probably takes place according to the mechanism of the methylol condensation in the bakelite synthesis.
