Abstract

The impact strength of a thicker interlayer fiber filled composite material is evaluated as a function of both interlayer thickness and glass transition temperatures (Tg). The results confirm that for maximum strength, an optimum interlayer thickness is required. It is shown that this result is a function of the interlayer's Tg. Comparison with studies on other rubber reinforced systems are noted.
