A generalized heat kernel method which includes space-time dependent scalar fields as mass scale already in zero order is presented. The approach is illustrated by calculating the vacuum polarization of a coupled meson-fermion theory exhibiting soliton type of solutions.

Eine verallgemeinerte Heat-Kernel-Methode wird vorgestellt, die ein Raum-Zeit-abhängiges skalares Feld als Massenskala benutzt. Der Zugang wird illustriert durch Berechnung der Vakuumpolarisation im Solitonsektor einer gekoppelten Meson-Fermion-Theorie.
