Summary

Peter applies these concepts to three particular life situations of his time – the government, slavery, and marriage. Intriguingly, he does not advocate changing any of these institutions; rather, he describes how the transformed life enables one to live victoriously and joyfully within the environment whatever it is. His words on these issues have influenced and shaped theology, society, culture and even the arts through the centuries.
