Abstract

The process and philosophy of evidence -informed practice are described as well as the origins of evidence-based decision making. Hallmarks and implications of this philosophy and process are described, including honoring ethical obligations to clients and moving away from authoritarian practices and policies. Educational implications are noted as well as obstacles. Lastly, choices that lie ahead in terms of the particular view of evidence-based practice favored are suggested.
