Abstract
This article reviews the concepts and basic physiology of hematological system which include hematopoiesis, functions of each type of blood cells and hemostasis. Pathophysiology and common diseases of hematological system are also reviewed with an emphasis on diagnostic approaches of the most common hematological diseases.
