Abstract

Abstract In this paper, a new genus, Chusiphuncula Zhang and new species, Chusiphuncula sorbarisucta Zhang, is recognized according to its unique morphological character combinations. The new genus is closely related to Rhopalosiphoninus Baker, but differs from the latter in: 1)head with lateral frontal tubercles smooth (rough in Rhopalosiphoninus); 2)siphunculus 0. 36× as long as body (0. 20–0. 33 in Rhopalosiphoninus); 3)cauda pentagonal (triangular in Rhopalosiphoninus) and 4)alate viviparous female with 7 secondary rhinaria on antennal segment (more than 10 in Rhopalosiphoninus). The type specimens are deposited in Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.
